Our Heritage and History

In the city of Bando, located in the southwestern part of the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan, the grand consecration ceremony of the Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir was celebrated on July 2, 2023, by the ancient Hindu tradition. The initiative to construct the temple was pledged by the trustees of Shri Ram Mandir Trust, who declared the commitment in March 2022. The foundation stone of Shri Ram Mandir was laid by Shri Ram Mandir Trust, formed by Indian entrepreneurs, with a collaborative effort that spanned from shoulder to shoulder. This initiative aimed not only to reach the common masses but also to serve the followers of the Sanatan Dharma residing in Japan.

Covering approximately five acres of land, the temple complex plans to include the priest’s residence, as well as proposals for constructing a guest house, community center, yoga center, and library in the future. The construction of Shri Ram Mandir in Japan has received financial and emotional support from Japan, India, and numerous other countries. Despite being away from the soil of India, devotees in Japan enthusiastically celebrated festivals and ceremonies according to the Sanatan Hindu traditions, contributing wholeheartedly to the construction of Shri Ram Mandir. The coming years are anticipated to witness an invaluable contribution to the temple’s construction, reflecting the joyous celebration of festivals and the essence of the Sanatan Hindu traditions even while being away from the homeland.

The Shri Ram Mandir aims to become a center for spreading the principles of Sanatan Dharma, contributing to the well-being of humanity, and promoting global peace beyond borders. Upholding the ideals of Lord Shri Ram, the embodiment of virtue, the temple will continuously strive to convey the blessings of the revered deity to people worldwide.
